Lately A has been really interested in a nursery rhyme book we have at home. Each morning and night for the last few weeks we have read a handful of rhymes together. He marks the page we are up to with a book mark, ready for the next time.
He has some particular favourites and often sings parts of the rhymes or full renditions when playing, eating or walking around. He is also keen on playing in the role play kitchen in my classroom and so we combined these two interests to make some nursery rhyme spoons.
I bought a pack of 12 spoons from Ebay and we used some sharpie pens to decorate them.
On the inside of the spoon we drew a picture associated with the rhyme. This is A’s 1,2,3,4,5 fish.
On the back we wrote the name of the rhyme.
Here they are!
We displayed them in a jar ready to use in the role play kitchen or when singing.
