We spent a wet but enjoyable evening taking part in the Cambridge Museum Twilight Trail. All the museums in Cambridge were open free of charge to the public between 4:30pm and 8:30pm. Armed with our torches and dressed for the cold we set out on the trail.
Our evening began at The Cambridge University Botanic Garden.
We walked through the Greenhouses looking for people dressed in Victorian Clothes, telling us about the hunt for new species in Victorian times. The greenhouses were lit with coloured lights, making it an exciting adventure.
At each point we collected a beautiful plant shaped stamp.
After dinner in the Botanic cafe we made our way to The Fitzwilliam Museum. Here we took part in a light and shadow trail.
This museum is very familiar to us but it was exciting and unusual to visit in the dark, exploring with our torches. Here we are making shadows on the objects in the Kettles Yard display.
Gallery 26 was very dark and a lot of fun to use the torches in. A loves these fish!
Despite all 10 locations being open that is as far as we made it. I wonder where we will go next time? Did anyone else make it to one of the museums? It would be great to hear about your evening!
