S received a new sketch book from school this week. He has been exploring various drawings using colouring crayons and watercolours over the holidays but found he was having trouble with his drawing of a horse.
We had a chat about it and then looked at the painting of “Whistlejacket” which hangs in the National Gallery in a London to you see how he could improve his drawing. After noting down a few ideas we looked at a postcard of the painting and begun another version. When in London to see “Father Christmas ” we called in at the National Gallery and used the real painting as supyport to finish the sketch.
S was really pleased with the results!
